Default boots/pants

Decided that I should probably invest in some boots and pants if I'm going to be riding. Anyone have any suggestions on some decent equipment that won't cost me an arm and a leg? Or if there is none, at least let me know what to save up for

alpinestars SMX-5 boots. They are not to expensive and are still very confortable to walk around in at bike nights and stuff. They are the boots that cbr900rar and I both had on the ride you went on with us not to long ago. Great boot for the price!

^^+1^^

I'm really pleased with my A-Stars so far. I hope I never find out how good their crash protection is though.

Just get a set of leathers, and good pair of boots. Crashing in textile riding pants inst much better than crashing in jeans~

well, my feeling on leathers is that if i'm going to get some, i'll get a 2 piece set so that i can wear the pants or jacket separately...

You should always wear them as a set~

But 2 pieces is better for when you stop to eat or something you can take the jacket all the way off~

2 piece will be more than good enough for your needs. You don't do any track riding and a good 2 piece set will hold up just as good as a 1 piece. But i agree leather is the way to go. You have to have leathers to do trackdays so if you ever want to do that it is a good investment.

just for a different opinion i have sidi b2's and i love em. good snug fit and offer a good range of movement without sacraficing safety. luckily i cant comment on their crash durability myself but the boots i have did go down with a previous member and there was hardly a scuff on them.
