The reason I yanked the fairings and such is to take it off of highway duty. With 120k miles and all the problems I've been having I just don't trust it on long trips.

The model bike I have is a weird combination of the first one and the second one. Mine has the single sided swingarm with the shock mounted on a diagonal like the first one, but the polished tank isn't a BMW tank, nor is the fairing. The gray one has the same tank shape and front end (K bike forks) but a double sided swingarm and a custom seat. I'm probably going to do a 2-1 undertail exhaust or a 2-1 underbody.

Just thought I'd share a Beemer that I find interesting to possibly give you some ideas.

Now those are some heavy duty mods. just about the only thing stock that I can find is the motor and the frame (and I use the term "stock" for the frame losely). Cool bike, but I'm definitely going more performance based with mine.

Holy shit, I just realized they converted the final drive from bevel to chain, or at least added a chain and shortened the bevel final drive. Very impressive.

Arrived home to a pair of new toys sitting inside the door today. They're leftovers from an old GSXR 1k and they're gonna need a bit of work, but i'm pretty psyched about it none the less.

I checked out the dimensions on the tube diameters and the good news is that they're an exact match for the Ducati, so now the decision making begins.

I've been wanting to get the front of the Duc resprung anyway and this would be around the cheapest way to go with a fully adjustable front end, seeing as how I don't have to get a new set of triples. I'm gonna have to fit it with a new axle (20mm compared to 25), new brakes (calipers and masters), new brake lines and probably new rotors.

Oh, and if anyone has a spare set of 90mm calipers sitting around let me know.

Decisions decisions decisions (and $)

Not to further hijack your thread, but I figured I'd share another unique Beemer. It's been around for a while, so you have probably seen it already, but here it is.

Nice. Most of the sites I've been lurking for some reason are mostly "cafe'd" boxers so the bobbers are few and far between. That rendering is pretty sweet though. Back in my hay day I may have been able to come CLOSE to that, but that is the bee's knees.

Don't even worry about the thread jack. Aside from the spoke wheel on the way and hopefully brakes as well, there's not much to update. Though I did get a bunch of fun tools for Christmas, so the chopping is going to commence

Any updates? Just make sure you don't run too high of a compression on the engine.
