Default New rider from Columbia

Hello fellow riders!
I'm new to the forum after meeting a member, don't know username, at the Breaktime @ the corner of Scott and Nifong on Sunday. After telling him about my first ride with the thursday night guys I felt like I needed something more relaxed even though I do like the twisties, so here I am.
I ride a Lime green Kawasaki Versys and have always rode by myself in the past. I'm thinking it would be alot more enjoyable to ride with others so I'm joining to hopefully change that.
Missed the ride tonight but I am not one to normally ride at dark--deer worry me and it's pretty dark at 9.
Well I'll quit rambling, glad to join your forum and looking forward to some rides!!

They leave from the rangeline break time around 5:30-6ish. i havent been on one but from what i understand there are quite a few that get fairly wild on those rides. we have fast riders on this board but our fast riders dont usually pass people on the lowside in a corner inches away from them.

btw welcome randy. hopefully ill get to see ya on a ride sometime when i have my bike back together.

Thanks all for the welcome! There was no crazy passing on corners like that on the ride I went on but most were passing slow cars when possible. They stopped and waited at each stop along the way till all bikes were their. I found myself in the middle but also found myself cornering abit faster than I normally do but the bike does well! I only felt the rear slide alittle once then I got alittle more cautious.
I left a one stop at EE and J route(off 40) and headed home, several others also left and went to meet at G &d's at crossroads. I have two old dogs at home so that is where I went, plus not a fan of night riding yet, deer concern me!

of course, I haven't hit one on a bike yet although I've laid my bike down a couple times avoiding them. only ever hit them in cars and even then only one did anything more than minor dents in the body, if any at all. There's not near as many in town as where I used to live. and all the one's i've seen in town I was either in a car or they were already hit. Evening shifts I don't get off until 10pm-2am and I have yet to see one on my bike. If anything, my night rides have been safer because there arn't as many idiots out on the roads.
