i'm going to be looking @ a 2005 r1 (same one on the forums here under "selling") in the next few days. i have funding and such but was curious if you know the "-=Twitch=-" guy at all?
also he said the triple clamp had some small scuffs and such, how much is it to replace?
i was informed by george at tergins that you may have done a throttle mod on your gsxr. Which throttle tube did you go with? i wanted to go with the 06 r6 tube because it is 1/6 but it requires mods to the housing while the earlier model r6 or r1 tubes drop in with a 1/5 turn ratio. Let me know what you did if you don't mind because i want to gather more info before i tackle this mod. thank you
That does clarify it for me. Thank you. Also, I was telling Desmo I read an article saying KTM was looking at putting there new RC8R into WSBK next yr, I think that will be interesting.
I guess to clarify, the factory bikes "have" to run Termongini exhaust because Termongini is the "official racing exhaust of Ducati". The non-factory bikes can run whatever they want, and Akrapovic makes a better exhaust than Termongini, so that's what they run.
I don't really see any I just noticed watching WSBK that the factory Ducs were the only ones. Smrz runs an Akra, Laconi runs an Akra and even Spies has an Akra on his R1. I was just wondering why the privateer bikes didn't run the Termi? I just figured you might know and thought I'd ask.
I don't know for sure, but I assume it's some kind of licensure issue with the duc factory. Termis are the "racing" exhaust that comes on the s and r model bikes.
Outside of Ducati, termongini is just another exhaust company. They make cans for just about everything, but can be pretty expensive.
The other ducatis in wsb are non-factory bikes so they can run whatever exhaust they want. Akropovic are some of the best so you see a lot of them.
MotoGP Ducati runs an open exhaust, so no termi for them.
