I didn't say they were perfect, I was just saying that was the ONE good thing I could say about them.

ROFL. So true. I was reading somewhere that the most technologically advanced Harley (the vrod) is still ancient as it is based on 1985 technology.

I am NOT anti-Harley Davidson. They are big, slow, heavy, and technically boring, but they are cruisers. How cutting edge does a cruiser really have to be?
I say ride whatever floats your boat, and I'll have no qualms riding with you, whatever you are on. I don't get the elite attitudes that are so prevalent among many HD types. Admittedly, Ducati types are reputed to be the same way, although I haven't seen much of it. I did see it at my last trip to Hallett. Two guys were there together...one on a 1098R, the other on a 999R. While walking to get my time sheet I happened upon the 999R and its owner. I gawked at the bike (in all of its full carbon factory bodywork, not exactly what I would dress it in for track duty) and tried to make small talk. The guy really came off as an arrogant ass. I don't know if he was just naturally that way or if he had purchased an attitude with the bike. Sad, either way.

I agree, I don't care if guys want to ride Harleys, or anything else for that matter. But I had some Jackass call me anti-American and a queer because I ride a Jap bike. Oh yeah, he also insinuated that I couldn't afford an H-D. Keep in mind this guy doesn't even know me.

LoL, I have to laugh about the whole thing. I was informed by my mother today who works with his wife that he was actually upset, as in mad about the whole deal

here is what i have to say is BOO FUCKING HOO. the guy obviously has a complex. yes i was also involved in the argument which started on a status of the person above me. i also agree with the ride what ya want to ride. we are all out there to enjoy ourselves, have some fun, hang out with friends, and make it home safe. what does it matter what you are on or what you paid for it? oh btw according to the jackass in question anyone who rides something foreign is un-american. just a forward judgement of what i can tell about the guy he probably drives a chevy and thinks it is the end all be all of american stuff. well news flash. chevy is owned by the us goverment and the us government is owned by the chinese so in turn if you buy or purchase a new chevy you are paying the chinese. THAT IS ALL!

Id say when he buys the bike then he can tell you what to ride. Hell I dont have one so if he wants to buy ME a bike I will live with the stigma of being on a Harley! And FWIW I love my Japanese Car even if its a death trap(2007 Toyota Camry under recall!) |
