Ahhhhh, what forum would be complete without this thread?

I agree with everyone so far in that it's all just a matter of taste. My mom rides an 07 Fatboy and I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but that thing is a gargantuan dog turd. It corners poorly (read: you scrape the footpegs way to easily). It's heavy. You have to wrap the throttle almost all the way to get ANY response out of it and you have to put around 3k back into it just to make it usable (windshield, bags, footboards, etc). But....she bought it because she couldn't imagine herself on anything else. She just dug the look, so despite giving her shit about riding a Harley I can respect her decision on buying that bike.

I can also see why most motorists hate sport bike riders when all they're exposed to is the cats that run around in traffic doing triple digit wheelies wearing naught but a helmet and a no fear t-shirt.

You're gonna get guff no matter what you're riding, it just depends who the guff is coming from as to whether or not you pay attention. Like Ryan said, if my friends are being nice to me there's generally something wrong but I'll be damned if I let some random schmuck belittle me about what I ride.

On that note, I'll see you folks later. Me and my Ducati are going to hit Starbucks and probably go to a wine tasting after that. I was thinking about buying a new suit too, but I may have to save my coin. Sailing season is coming up.

Although they are trying to sell it now, did the guy forget Harley bought MV? Would you still be unAmerican if you rode one of those Italian super models?

Ride what ya like. If someone wants to make a ass of their self with dumb uncalled for comments fuck them. It is what you like. I can ride any of the and be fine. I started on a 1100 Vstar and once you get used to them they handle good. I have rode a vrod and a street bob and they both did fine although I am not much on the whole chubby apes or ape hangers.

I love ze Germans...and Japs...and Italians...basically the axis powers
No but seriously I've had German cars, Japanese bikes, filipina wife, try to speak spanish, etc...

...And what I have noticed is (exact thing most have already said) *typically*, the HD riders bashing the other riders are the same ones who are, forgive me, but redneck a$$hats who are close minded to everything else "un- Amuuurichan"...so be it. Those are your everyday anti-everything else people... Eff em.
I was on a ride with Adam one day and we ran into an old guy with his sister who stopped us at an intersection after we passed them (albeit fast but safely) to yell at us that we rode "$hitty jap bikes" and said "i'll get my Haaaaaarley and show ya'll how ta ride right sumbitch!" to which I responded I would love to see, and had to de-escalate his douche-baggery with rational conversation.

However it need be known that not all Harley riders are uncool. I have personally ran into a lot of down to earth HD riders out there that just love to ride-they just have a different riding style and like us will respect other types...

I like bikes for what they are, my bike is more reliable, faster, lighter, and costs significantly less, therefore imho more fun to ride than an overpriced shiny loud slow non turning machine... Some people like chrome and ear drum bursting exhaust and ultra sack vibration...with a high $ note. I don't care what you ride, but not all people have the same open minded attitude.
