Does that guy realize what a waste it is to shoot that thing on a range of less that about 900 yards? $5 a round on a 100 yard range? No thanks. I've only found two places around here that you could even come close to tapping into a .50's potential and they were both privately owned land that the owners were VERY careful about whom they let come out. That being said, Desmo, you're absolutely right, operating a .50 is an experience nobody should miss out on. Good luck finding a place to do it.

yeah cbr...i do realize this. i have a couple places where i could stretch it out but just havent had a chance to do it. Its not 5 dollars a round...for the stuff i shoot and it is never a waste to shoot the 50. Its a thrill no matter what the range and thats why i let my coworker shoot it at his range. By the way......you make 600+ yards sound like it is a walk in the park. It is not i can assure you. It takes practice and skill.

I wasn't trying to give you shit or anything. But You're preaching to the choir..... I know what it's like to "stretch one of these out." It absolutely does take practice and skill. But 600 yards is a walk in the park for a properly scoped .50. That's what they're designed for and with the right shooter 600 yards is a warm up. As for your ammo, I don't know what you're shooting, but if you can find .50 on the cheap, kudos to you. Happy shooting.

agreed. There is a guy in richland, mo that sells pmc "ball ammo" (the ones pictured) for about 3.50 a round. I also have a reloading setup now.
