Default 2010 R1

I was looking around at new bikes and found out that I really liked the 2010 R1's! I really like the blue and white. I was wondering If anyone on here has an 09 or 10. If there is do you like it, what would you change about it, if you were going to buy again tomorrow would you go with the same bike, have you had any problems, is there anything that may become a problem.
The only thing I am worried about is having way too much bike I have an 06 gsxr 600 with full exhaust, power commander, 520 conversion, bmc filter and sometimes that feels like to much on the top. I think all of that stuff added alot of power but it put it all up top. How would the r1 feel compared to that?

Night and day difference. Think about taking all that power up
top and putting it throughout the rpm range. That is what
you get with the 1000s. Devo here has an 09 and loves it. The guy who
owned the r6 I totaled has an 09 as well and loves it.

Your gixxer has maybe 108-110 hp at the wheel, probably a little less. The R1 has at least 165 at the rear wheel, and a whole lot more torque. If you think your 600 is fast, a liter bike will blow your mind. Then again, the R1 has a mode selector switch that will reduce the power to keep you safe.

Were there any changes from the '09 to the '10?

Nothing really changed in the year, couple tweaks. Owning an R1 over the R6 was a huge change. The biggest difference is low end power. With that power, you gain some weight, so you aren't quite as flickable as a 600. I would buy the same bike again in a heartbeat. You need a new exhaust, which can be expensive, but worth the money. The only problem is keeping tires on the damn thing, but that's also caused by my aggressive riding style. At the track, I did have issues with the brake pads, but I believe yamaha resolved that for 2010. Regardless, braking from 140 mph at the track to 50 with only 1 finger on the lever is pretty bad ass. I love the brakes. If you're still on the fence, I'll let you take it for a spin sometime, so you can see and feel the R1 for yourself.

I think quite a few of us have gotten to put our dirty little mitts all over devos 09.

Its a hell of a bike for sure, and thats comin from me about a yamaha, so you know its true.

The R1 is the 2009 IBTOY, so the 2010 can be too bad a ride.
